How to Use A Cliche to Write a Good Essay

How to Use A Cliche to Write a Good EssayWhen it comes to writing an essay, there are no shortage of cliched essay topics. Every student knows that an essay is basically an essay, with the occasional couple of colorful words thrown in for good measure. If you are going to write a cliche, here are a few things to keep in mind.o Find one that is the same as what you know. In this case, it has to be related to something you know. Not related would not make a lot of sense. For example, if you knew about a guy who was known as 'Mr. Whiplash' because of his temper, your essay will not make any sense if you decide to use the word 'cliché.'o Make sure it will not seem forced. By forced, I mean that it has to be written in a way that gives it weight and gravity. For example, in a word article, it has to stand out because it is not a typical thing that is used like a sentence or a paragraph.o Find a topic that is based on a fact. This is important because it gives it more credibility and weig ht.o Try to find a topic that can be easily explained. Clichés will only make sense if they are made as simple as possible to understand.o If you have to use cliches, make sure they are used in moderation. A good rule of thumb is to keep it in small amounts, but it should never be used as an answer to a question. The key to making a cliche an effective essay topic is to be able to control the amount of it you use and to keep the topic relevant. It is an effective way to spice up a boring piece of writing. However, when a cliche is used too much, it can get in the way of a good writer. Make sure you are not using the word 'cliche' as a way to give your writing a sense of humor. Because of this, it is good to be honest and also leave room for interpretation.
